Baseball Recap: North Bend Comes Up Short

North Bend extended their losing streak to three on Tuesday, dropping them down to 7-10. They took a 7-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Junction City Tigers. If the Bulldogs were looking for revenge after losing 4-3 to the Tigers when the teams met back in May of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Junction City, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 13-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games.

For Junction City's part, Conner Clift made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. Clift has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-5 with one home run and two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Madix Waldrop, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March. Brayden Rauschert was another key player, going 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.

While North Bend had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:00 p.m. on Friday.
