Basketball Recap: Crenshaw Christian Academy Comes Up Short on the Road Against Sparta Academy

Crenshaw Christian Academy kicked off their season on the road on Tuesday and hit a couple of potholes. They took a blow against the Sparta Academy Warriors, falling 52-20. The Cougars just can't catch a break and have now endured seven losses in a row dating back to last season.

Sparta Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Lucy Salter, who almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine boards. Those 18 points gave Salter a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaitlyn Johnson, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and ten rebounds.

The victory was their first at home , bumping their record up to 3-6.

Crenshaw Christian Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Sparta Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025. Sparta Academy also won't see the court for a while: their next matchup is against Hooper Academy at 6:00 p.m. on December 30th.
