Basketball Game Preview: Mater Dei Knights vs. Belleville East Lancers

The Mater Dei Knights will challenge the Belleville East Lancers at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Mater Dei will be strutting in after a victory while Belleville East will be coming in after a defeat.

Mater Dei is headed into the contest after thoroughly thrashing Okawville: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Mater Dei blew Okawville out of the water with a 57-29 final score. The Knights have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 games by 21 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Belleville East unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Thursday. They took a 54-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of O'Fallon.

Mater Dei's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-9. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.3 points per game. As for Belleville East, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 18-9.
