Woodward Academy extended their winning streak to eight on Saturday, bumping them up to 8-0. They came out on top against the Veterans Warhawks by a score of 2-0. That's more bragging rights for the War Eagles, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Leah Scantlebury paced Woodward Academy's offense, picking up eight kills. Scantlebury got some help from Marissa Jones and her 15 assists.

As for Veterans, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-3. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 9-3-1 Eagle's Landing Christian Academy (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 86.5% over those games).

Despite the loss, Veterans still got an impressive performance from Grace Lamontagne, who had seven digs and four assists.

Woodward Academy has already played their next match, a 2-0 win against Eagle's Landing Christian Academy on the 23rd. As for Veterans, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Non Varsity Opponent on the 23rd.
