            Baseball Recap: Edmondson-Westside Red Storm vs. Dunbar Poets        
        
		
        
        
            Edmondson-Westside extended their losing streak  (dating back to last season) to nine  on Friday, dropping their season record down to 0-7 in the process. They lost  14-4 to the Dunbar Poets. The Red Storm were not able to make up for their  defeat to the Poets from their previous meeting  back in March of 2023.
As for Dunbar, they now  have a winning record of 3-2. 14 seems to be a good number for they as the  squad scooped up a  win with the same number of  runs in their previous game.
For Dunbar's part,  Griffin Wildey made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He  didn't allow a single  earned run and  allowed only  one  hit while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Wildey was also solid in the batter's box,  going 1-for-3 with two  runs and one  stolen base. He has been hot recently, having  posted  at least one  stolen base the last four times he's  played.
 In other batting news,  Zion Foster was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with three  stolen bases, three  runs,  and two  RBI.  Amanuel Seyoum was another key player,  going 3-for-4 with three  RBI, two  runs,  and one  stolen base.
 Looking ahead, Edmondson-Westside will look to defend their home field  on Monday against Lake Clifton  at 3:45  p.m. As for Dunbar, they will head out on the road to  challenge  Patterson  at 11:00  a.m.  on Saturday. The Clippers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.83  runs per game on average), something the Poets will no doubt try to take advantage of.
