Haxtun came out on top against Holyoke on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive 16-run second inning. The Fightin' Bulldogs put the hurt on the Dragons with a sharp 21-1 victory. The Fightin' Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by six runs or more this season.

Bret Kanode was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up just one earned run but no hits. Kanode was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with four runs. Those four runs gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Haxtun got a big performance out of Grant Statz, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base. Tate Michael was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and two RBI.

Haxtun always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Haxtun's record is now 13-4. As for Holyoke, they are on a 19-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-18.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Haxtun beat the Dragons by a score of 24-10 later that day.
