Volleyball Recap: Albemarle's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Tuesday

After a string of four wins, Albemarle's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Western Albemarle Warriors by a score of 3-2. The Patriots were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Warriors apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Albemarle took Western Albemarle into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking five-point loss. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-10, 25-19, 16-25, 17-25, 15-10.

Albemarle's defeat dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Western Albemarle, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-4.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Albemarle is set to take on their familiar foe Fluvanna County at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Western Albemarle will square off against rival Louisa County at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
