Norman North's Z'Quan Hogan recorded the longest rushing play in 6A District 3 this season in his game against Edmond North last week. Hogan scampered for 94 yards on the play and finished with 116 on the day as his team topped the Huskies.
Norman North extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Edmond North, 49-27. This was the team's fourth consecutive win.
The Timberwolves' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Peyton Gavras threw for 411 and five touchdowns and Jake Higginbotham had 187 yards receiving. Payton Prince helped Norman North's passing attack out by catching five balls for 102 yards.
Norman North's Gavras and Higginbotham have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Gavras has thrown for 1619 yards this season, while Higginbotham, a 6-foot-0 receiver, has 22 catches for 567 yards. Jeremy Dombek's team's Marque Depp leads the league in rushing yards with 498.
A big matchup in 6A District 3 this week will be when the Timberwolves take on Putnam City North. As it stands, Norman North is in first, while the Panthers are in third.
Putnam City North took down Grant 56-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
