Fort Worth Country Day skates past Westlake Academy with ease

The Fort Worth Country Day Falcons scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Westlake Academy 58-31 at home. The victory was some much needed relief for Fort Worth Country Day as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.

Westlake Academy's loss came despite strong showings from Bella Braxton and Maya Sonday. Braxton scored 13 points along with two steals, while Sonday scored 11 points along with five rebounds and four steals. That was a full 35.5% of Westlake Academy's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.

Fort Worth Country Day's victory ended a seven-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-9. As for Westlake Academy, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 12-11.

Fort Worth Country Day will stay at home for another game and welcome the Trojans at 12:06 p.m. on February 2nd. Trinity Valley has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. Westlake Academy is on the road again on Friday and plays the Patriots at 6:30 p.m. on February 2nd. Victory Christian Academy will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.
