Volleyball Recap: Georgetown Takes a Loss

Georgetown was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 13th straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the Williamsburg Wildcats, falling 3-0. The G-Men were not able to make up for their loss to the Wildcats from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

Georgetown was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-12, 25-17.

Taylor Battista was nothing short of spectacular for Williamsburg: she had 12 digs and four aces. Those four aces gave Battista a new career-high.

Georgetown's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Williamsburg, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Georgetown will take on Felicity-Franklin at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Williamsburg, they will host Fayetteville-Perry at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
