Basketball Recap: Hilliard Davidson Comes Up Short

Hilliard Davidson lost against Olentangy Liberty back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Hilliard Davidson Wildcats were beaten by the Olentangy Liberty Patriots 48-19. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 555th, while the Patriots are ranked 86th).

Chloe Crawford was Hilliard Davidson's leading scorer, having posted eight points.

Maria Stack continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Olentangy Liberty, going 6 of 12 on her way to 13 points and four steals. Those four steals gave Stack a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Anna Bode, who posted four points and six rebounds.

Hilliard Davidson's defeat was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Olentangy Liberty, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Hilliard Davidson Wildcats duke it out with the Hilliard Darby Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Olentangy Liberty, they will challenge Olentangy Orange at 6:00 p.m. on January 17th.
