Volleyball Recap: Wolfson Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Wolfson took a three-set defeat the last time they faced off against Mandarin, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Wolfpack skirted past the Mustangs 3-2. The win was familiar territory for the Wolfpack, who have now won four matchups in a row.

Wolfson had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 20-25, 23-25, 25-12, 25-13, 15-7.

Leading Wolfson to victory were Carter Rowell and Monica Mina. Rowell had 24 digs and two aces, while Mina had 22 digs and six assists. That's the most digs Mina has posted since back in August.

They weren't the only good servers: Wolfson was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 16 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least seven aces every time they've taken the court this season.

Despite the loss, Mandarin had strong showings from Olivia Hollis, who had 13 digs and five assists, and Kyla Hollis, who had 28 digs and 19 kills. Kyla has been hot for a while, having posted nine or more kills the last 11 times she's played.

Wolfson's victory bumped their record up to 15-1. As for Mandarin, they moved to 11-9 with that defeat, which also ended their seven-match winning streak.

Wolfson didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-1 win against Fletcher on the 9th. As for Mandarin, they will challenge Sandalwood on Tuesday.
