Football Recap: Guymon Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Guymon lost against Gruver back in September of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Tigers were dealt a 61-6 loss at the hands of the Greyhounds. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Tigers came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' football rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 155th in Oklahoma, while the Greyhounds are ranked 564th in Texas).

Guymon now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Gruver, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Guymon will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Texhoma/Goodwell at 7:00 p.m. on October 10. As for Gruver, they will face off against River Road at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Greyhounds will be up against the Wildcats' rather soft defense (which has allowed 43.25 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
