Basketball Recap: Jeromy Rosales' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Centerville over Slocum

Centerville was the 63-22 winner over Slocum when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. The Centerville Tigers took a 50-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Slocum Mustangs on Thursday. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Centerville's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jeromy Rosales, who posted 13 points. The dominant performance also gave Rosales a new career-high in boards (four). Ty Chrisman was another key player, putting up six points and 16 rebounds.

Centerville now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Slocum, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a massive bump to their 6-5 record this season.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Iola the next time they take the court. Slocum will host Iola at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday, while Centerville will head out to face them at 9:20 a.m. on Friday.
