Preview: Flint Academy Falcons vs. Chisholm Trail Academy Blazers
The Flint Academy Falcons will head out on the road to take on the Chisholm Trail Academy Blazers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Flint Academy is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
Flint Academy struggled with three-point shooting accuracy on Monday (Hill was 24% better) and sadly the final score reflected it. The match between the two teams wasn't particularly close, with Flint Academy falling 52-38.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Connor Bluhm, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Ben Carlton, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds and five steals.
Chisholm Trail Academy posted their biggest win since November 27, 2023 on Thursday. They were the clear victor by a 65-42 margin over Hill. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Chisholm Trail Academy has posted against Hill since December 7, 2015.
It was another big night for Tyler McHenry, who scored 18 points along with five assists and three steals. That's the first time this season that he scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Max Castro, who scored six points along with four steals.
Flint Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Chisholm Trail Academy, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-7.
Flint Academy lost to Chisholm Trail Academy on the road by a decisive 80-62 margin when the teams last played back in December of 2017. Can Flint Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
