Volleyball Recap: Oakwood Academy Starts Season with Victory at Home

Oakwood Academy gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Berean Christian Academy Lions 3-2.

Oakwood Academy was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. The match finished with set scores of 26-24, 20-25, 23-25, 25-22, 16-14.

Oakwood Academy was led to victory by Maya Cope and Jaidyn Long. Cope had five aces, while Long had five aces.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Oakwood Academy is set to square off against their familiar foe Varsity Opponent at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Berean Christian Academy will challenge rival Trinity Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on September 2.
