West Side snaps five-game streak of losses at home

Recap: West Side Roughriders vs. Central Blue Devils

The West Side Roughriders scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They snuck past Central with a 75-70 win. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.

Central's loss came despite strong showings from Malachi Thomas and Malik Bass. Thomas scored 18 points along with seven assists and five rebounds, while Bass scored 25 points along with six assists and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Bass has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Drean Aikins, who scored five points along with six rebounds and three blocks.

West Side's victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-8. As for Central, they dropped their record down to 6-9 with that loss, which was their ninth straight on the road.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Side and Marion P. Thomas will face off at 4:00 p.m. on January 29th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Marion P. Thomas is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak. As for Central, they will be playing at home against East Side at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
