Soccer Game Preview: AHSTW vs. Underwood

AHSTW hasn't had much luck against Underwood recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Vikings will be playing in front of their home fans against the Eagles at 5:00 p.m. AHSTW has given up an average of 7.6 goals per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

AHSTW is headed into Monday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 11th straight game on Friday. They lost 10-0 to Treynor. While losing is never fun, AHSTW can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa soccer rankings (they are ranked 195th, while Treynor are ranked 20th).

Meanwhile, Underwood had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6 goals) and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Cyclones.

Underwood pushed their record up to 7-2-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 17 goals over those four contests. As for AHSTW, their loss dropped their record down to 0-11.

AHSTW might still be hurting after the 11-0 defeat they got from Underwood when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can the Vikings avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
