Cullman won the last time they faced Southside and things went their way on Friday too. The Bearcats sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-3 win over the Panthers. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Bearcats have posted since April 11th.

Reese Hopper was excellent, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with one double and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Dracen Bates, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

Cullman was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .389. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Southside only posted a batting average of .200.

Cullman's record now sits at 37-9-1. As for Southside, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-18.

Cullman didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 9-5 win against Deshler on the 24th. As for Southside, they have also already played their next contest, a 12-0 loss against Madison Academy on the 25th.
