Baseball Recap: Hanover Sets Scoring Season-High Against North Quincy

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hanover). They blew past the North Quincy Raiders 12-5 on Thursday. The Hawks not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since May 21, 2024 (when they won 8-0).

Will Davidson made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off eight hits. Davidson was also big at the plate, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Aidan Van Dyk, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. Those runs marked the first that he has scored this season. Another player making a difference was Thomas Perkins, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one run.

The win got Hanover back to even at 4-4. As for North Quincy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hanover will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Hingham at 4:00 p.m. on the 28th. As for North Quincy, they will square off against Braintree at 11:00 a.m. on Friday.
