Santiago and Mission Viejo squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Santiago had to settle for second. They lost to the Diablos on the road by a 20-6 margin. The Sharks' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Priscilla Hernandez threw for 142 yards and one touchdown. Talan Beyer was her top target, picking up 52 receiving yards.

A big part of Mission Viejo's win came down to the chemistry between Bailey McNeal and her top target Leah Vanderveen. McNeal threw for 265 yards and a pair of TDs while Vanderveen picked up 112 receiving yards and one score. That's the most receiving yards Vanderveen has posted since back in September.

Santiago's defeat dropped their record down to 8-11-1. As for Mission Viejo, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a massive bump to their 16-14 record this season.

Santiago does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mission Viejo, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 13-6 victory against El Modena on the 28th.
