Soccer Game Preview: Clackamas vs. David Douglas

The Clackamas Cavaliers will head out to challenge the David Douglas Scots at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.

Clackamas is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Sandy just ended the team's four-match winning streak on Wednesday. Neither they nor the Pioneers could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 1-1 draw.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask David Douglas). They never let Reynolds get on the board and left with an 8-0 victory on Wednesday. Given David Douglas' advantage in MaxPreps' Oregon soccer rankings (they are ranked 15th, while Reynolds are ranked 154th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

The win made it two in a row for David Douglas and bumps their season record up to 8-1. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those two matchups. Clackamas' draw gives them a new season record of 7-0-2.

Clackamas suffered a grim 6-1 defeat to David Douglas in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Can the Cavaliers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
