Softball Recap: Mabton Comes Up Short

After soaring to 23 runs the game before, Mabton was a bit more limited in their matchup on Friday. They lost 19-1 to the Columbia Coyotes. If the Vikings were looking for revenge after losing 21-6 to the Coyotes when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Mabton's defeat was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-2. As for Columbia, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 7-2.

Mabton didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 15-0 loss against Granger on the 8th. As for Columbia, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on River View at 3:00 p.m. on the 11th. The Coyotes will need to watch out since the Panthers have now posted at least ten runs every time they've taken the field this season.
