Baseball Game Preview: Catonsville Comets vs. Overlea Falcons

The Catonsville Comets will head out to square off against the Overlea Falcons at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Overlea will be up against a hot Catonsville squad: the team just extended their winning streak to six. Everything went the Comets' way against Randallstown on Friday as they made off with a 15-2 win. That looming 15-2 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Comets yet this season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Overlea). They were the clear victors by a 29-13 margin over Milford Mill Academy on Thursday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Falcons.

Catonsville pushed their record up to 8-4 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games. As for Overlea, their victory bumped their record up to 4-7.

Catonsville took their win against Overlea in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 10-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Comets since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
