Baseball Recap: Rusk Takes a Loss

Fans were treated to a battle of the Eagles on Saturday. Rusk took an 8-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of Tatum. Rusk was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Tatum apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Kade Blankenship was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing Three bases. Blankenship is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season. Jermicheal Sturns was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI.

Rusk has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-3 record this season. The victory snapped Tatum's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 5-3 record.

Looking ahead, Rusk will welcome Brownsboro at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Tatum, they will head out on the road to square off against Sabine at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Sabine has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.67 runs per game on average), something Tatum will no doubt try to take advantage of.
