Basketball Recap: Linn-Mar Comes Up Short

Linn-Mar was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They took a 55-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Iowa City West Trojans. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 142nd, while the Trojans are ranked 13th).

Linn-Mar's loss dropped their record down to 3-15. As for Iowa City West, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season.

Linn-Mar will head out on the road to face off against Pleasant Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Pleasant Valley knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five contests -- so hopefully Linn-Mar likes a good challenge. As for Iowa City West, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Cedar Falls at 6:00 p.m. on February 7th.
