Baseball Recap: Moline Comes Up Short

Moline extended their losing streak to three on Wednesday, dropping them down to 16-10. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the East Moline United Panthers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 4-1 on Tuesday.

As for East Moline United, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-12 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games.

For East Moline United's part, the team relied heavily on Zach Darras, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run. That's the most RBI Darras has posted since back in April.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Moline will square off against Alleman at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for East Moline United, they will challenge Pekin at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. The last three games the Dragons have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
