Collinsville has gone 9-1 against Granite City recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. Collinsville will welcome Granite City at 4:30 p.m. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for Collinsville and five for Granite City.

Collinsville came up short against Hernando on Saturday, falling 18-5.

Carter Harrington made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Elijah Clay, who scored a run while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Granite City lost 14-1 to Belleville East on Monday.

Granite City saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nathan Hopper, who went 1-for-2 with one double. Andrew Willaredt also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Collinsville's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Granite City, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5.

Collinsville's speedy runners might be the difference in Wednesday's game. Collinsville has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.1 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Granite City, though, as they've been averaging only 0.5 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Collinsville continue to outrun the ball?

Collinsville took their victory against Granite City in their previous meeting back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 13-4. Will Collinsville repeat their success, or does Granite City has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
