Baseball Game Preview: Hicksville Aces vs. Antwerp Archers

Hicksville is 0-7 against Antwerp since April of 2019 but things could change on Thursday. The Aces will be playing at home against the Archers at 5:00 p.m. Neither Hicksville nor Antwerp posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Hicksville made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Wayne Trace, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Aces fell just short of the Raiders by a score of 2-0 on Tuesday. The matchup marked the first time this year in which the Aces were not able to get on the board.

Eli Lawrence spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on five hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

Meanwhile, Antwerp was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They came up short against Edgerton, falling 10-0.

Antwerp's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Hicksville, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.
