Softball Recap: Beachside Gets the Win

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Tuesday as neither Beachside nor Nease made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Barracudas came out on top in a nail-biter against the Golden Panthers, sneaking past 5-3. This was a revenge game for the Barracudas: when they faced off against the Golden Panthers back in March, they had to take a 6-1 loss.

Adalyn Hinsky spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on nine hits.

On the hitting side, Beachside's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Tatum Pocol, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Beachside's victory bumped their record up to 8-9. As for Nease, they moved to 6-12 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Looking ahead, Beachside will be playing in front of their home fans against Interlachen at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Nease, they will head out on the road to face off against Matanzas at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Golden Panthers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Pirates have averaged an impressive 7.4 runs per game this season.
