Basketball Game Preview: Farragut Admirals vs. Bearden Bulldogs

The Farragut Admirals will face off against the Bearden Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Farragut is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 66.4 points per game this season.

Farragut is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering West just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They received a blow as they fell 70-52 to the Rebels.

Despite the defeat, Farragut had strong showings from Dominic Vanacker, who went 10 of 15 on his way to 26 points and five boards, and Parker Lane, who went 7 for 14 en route to 16 points. Carson Mactavish also deserves some recognition as he posted his first blocks of the season.

Meanwhile, Bearden faced Maryville in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. Bearden breezed by Maryville to the tune of 61-33. The Bulldogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 matches by 20 points or more this season.

Bearden pushed their record up to 17-3 with the victory, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Farragut, their loss dropped their record down to 13-6.

Farragut ended up a good deal behind Bearden in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, losing 57-39. Can Farragut avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
