Baseball Recap: Astoria Takes a Loss

Astoria suffered their closest defeat since April 2, 2024 on Friday. They fell just short of the Ontario Tigers by a score of 13-11.

Joey Gramlich and Colt Kelly did some serious damage despite the final result: Gramlich scored two runs while going 3-for-4, while Kelly scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Sam Schacher was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-5.

Astoria now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Ontario, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.

While Astoria had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
