Baseball Recap: Western Beaver Has No Trouble Against Aquinas Academy

The Western Beaver Golden Beavers made easy work of the Aquinas Academy Crusaders on Monday and carried off a 13-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Golden Beavers, who have now won four matches by ten runs or more so far this season.

Vincent Ross was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out ten over six innings pitched. Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with five RBI and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Sawyer Chaffee, who scored a run while going 3-for-5. Mikey Goehring was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base.

Western Beaver's win bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Aquinas Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4.

Looking ahead, Western Beaver will challenge Beaver Falls at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Aquinas Academy, they will square off against Apollo Ridge at 3:45 p.m. on Friday.
