Branchville has no trouble against Lake Marion

Winning is just a little bit easier when you outrebound your opponent 14 to 5 on the offensive boards, a fact the Branchville Yellow Jackets proved on Tuesday. They came out on top against Lake Marion by a score of 49-42. That looming 49-42 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Branchville yet this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Branchville to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kizer Glover, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds and five steals. The matchup was Glover's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Phillijuan Saldano, who scored six points along with 11 rebounds and eight blocks.

Despite the loss, Lake Marion still got an impressive performance from Mason Miles, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Breion Shivers, who scored six points.

Branchville's victory ended a three-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-2. As for Lake Marion, they bumped their record down to 1-6 with that loss, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Branchville won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Edisto at 8:00 p.m. on December 13th. As for Lake Marion, they will head out on the road to face off against Orangeburg-Wilkinson at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Orangeburg-Wilkinson will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
