Guilderland (Guilderland Center, N.Y.) took the lead for good when
Frank Gallo thew a touchdown to
Jacob Smith with 7:00 remaining in the fourth quarter and held on to beat
Shenendehowa (Clifton Park, N.Y.) 29-22 on Saturday.
The two teams were tied at 15 heading into halftime. The Flying Dutchman took the lead for good on a Gallo touchdown pass to Smith in the fourth quarter.
The victory is a complete turnaround from last season's game between these two teams, which the Plainsmen took, 34-0.
The defeat comes as a step back for Shenendehowa, which notched a 53-28 victory over Albany in its previous outing.
Guilderland (5-0) goes up against Christian Brothers Academy in a Section 2 AA - Empire game matchup next week, while Shenendehowa (4-1) locks horns with Saratoga Springs also in a Section 2 AA - Empire game.
