Preview: Lisbon Broncos vs. Wahpeton Huskies
The Lisbon Broncos will head out on the road to face off against the Wahpeton Huskies at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Lisbon focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Tuesday.
Even though Lisbon has not done well against LaMoure/Litchville-Marion recently (they were 1-7 in their previous eight matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way. Lisbon narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past LaMoure/Litchville-Marion 56-53. Lisbon's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Emerson Schultz was the offensive standout of the game as she scored 17 points along with eight rebounds. That's the first time this season that she pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Kaia Sweet, who scored 12 points along with nine assists and five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Wahpeton's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 46-45 to Four Winds/Minnewaukan.
Lisbon's victory ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-4. As for Wahpeton, their loss dropped their record down to 1-6.
