Basketball Recap: Melbourne Central Catholic Comes Up Short

If Melbourne Central Catholic was riding high fresh off their 48-28 takedown of Pineapple Cove Classical Academy last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Melbourne Central Catholic Hustlers fell 41-32 to the West Shore Wildcats on Wednesday. The Hustlers have struggled against the Wildcats recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

West Shore was led to victory by Kaelani Luther and Emily Marshall. Luther almost dropped a double-double on 21 points and nine steals, while Marshall dropped a double-double on ten points and 16 rebounds. Luther continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's played.

Melbourne Central Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 5-10. As for West Shore, with the victory, they broke their eight-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-9.

Melbourne Central Catholic will challenge Morningside Academy at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. As for West Shore, they will square off against Odyssey Charter School at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
