After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Royal, Connell was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 70-28 victory over the College Place Hawks. Considering the Eagles' offense had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Hunter Vanhollebeke had a dynamite game, throwing for 243 yards and five TDs while completing 71.4% of his passes, and also rushing for 37 yards and one touchdown.

Despite the defeat, College Place saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Haydan Hafen rushed for 128 yards and one score on only eight carries.

Connell's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for College Place, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 0-4.
