Baseball Recap: Liberty Falls Short Against Ranked Canyon View

Liberty faced Canyon View in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Lions lost 6-0 to the Jaguars. The shutout was out of character for the Lions seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in March.

Liberty has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 15-10 record this season. As for Canyon View, their victory was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 25-4.

Looking ahead, Liberty will challenge Sunrise Mountain at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Lions' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Mustangs have averaged an impressive 8 runs per game this season. As for Canyon View, they are taking a road trip to take on Buckeye at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Jaguars are facing the Hawks at the right time seeing as the Hawks are stuck on an eight-game losing streak.
