Baseball Recap: Nicholas County Bluejackets vs. Newport Wildcats
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Walton-Verona, Nicholas County was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They never let the Newport Wildcats get on the board and left with a 13-0 victory. With that win, the Bluejackets brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.
Chandler Kenney made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in April of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.
