Baseball Recap: Paramount Comes Up Short

Paramount fell victim to St. Paul and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Swordsmen. The game marked the first time this year in which the Pirates were not able to get on the board.

Paramount saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nicholas Medina, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base. Medina has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played.

This is the second loss in a row for Paramount and nudges their season record down to 14-9. As for St. Paul, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 14-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Paramount will host Long Beach Poly at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Pirates 4, the Jackrabbits 3.4) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for St. Paul, they will welcome Santa Fe at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday.
