Recap: Northwood Chargers vs. Cummings Cavaliers
The Northwood Chargers stacked a sixth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 48-9 win over Cummings. Given Northwood's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 72nd, while Cummings is ranked 570th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Northwood was led to victory by Skylar Adams and Alyia Roberts. Adams scored 11 points along with three steals, while Roberts scored 13 points along with four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Roberts has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Keira Parrish, who scored seven points along with two blocks.
The victory makes it two in a row for Northwood and bumps their season record up to 11-2. As for Cummings, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-9.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northwood will square off against Chatham Central at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Chatham Central is on a six-game streak of home wins, Northwood a 12-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season)-- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. As for Cummings, they will head out on the road to take on Southeast Alamance at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
