Volleyball Recap: Fort Calhoun Comes Up Short

Fort Calhoun lost against Ashland-Greenwood back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Pioneers came up short against the Bluejays, falling 3-0. The Pioneers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-16, 25-15.

Emilee Thayer-Mencke paced Fort Calhoun's offense, picking up seven kills. Thayer-Mencke got some help from Sophie Weeks and her 18 assists.

Fort Calhoun's defeat dropped their record down to 14-6. As for Ashland-Greenwood, they pushed their record up to 13-5 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

Fort Calhoun didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Bergan Catholic on the 4th. As for Ashland-Greenwood, they have also already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Plattsmouth on the 4th.
