Volleyball Recap: Parkway West Falls Despite Big Games from Grace Garetson and Macyn Tarter

Parkway West was the 3-0 winner over Rockwood Summit when they last played one another back in October of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Longhorns fell 3-1 to the Falcons on Tuesday. While the Longhorns didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Falcons 25-17 in the first set.

Parkway West started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 17-25, 25-16, 25-14, 25-19.

Despite the loss, Parkway West had strong showings from Macyn Tarter, who had 13 digs and five assists, and Grace Garetson, who had six kills.

Parkway West has also been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-7-1 record this season. As for Rockwood Summit, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-7.

Parkway West didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-2 defeat against Ursuline Academy on the 3rd. As for Rockwood Summit, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-2 loss against Oakville on the 2nd.
