Football Recap: Freedom Starts Season with Loss on the Road + How To Watch

Freedom kicked off their season on the road on Thursday and hit a couple of potholes. They were beaten by the Osbourn Park Yellowjackets 40-0. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Yellowjackets apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in August of 2017.

Yussif Kassim threw for 93 yards on seven of 13 attempts. Joel Leak was his top target, picking up 74 receiving yards. On the ground, Dallas Jackson rushed for 34 yards.

Osbourn Park got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Ahmad Bah out in front who rushed for 102 yards and a pair of TDs on only 12 carries. Those 102 rushing yards gave Bah a new career-high. Derron Danquah was in the mix as well, providing Osbourn Park with two scores.

Freedom and Osbourn Park should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Virginia Rankings. The Eagles will take on Annandale at 7:00 p.m. on the 5th with a big rank advantage (85 vs. 299). Meanwhile, Osbourn Park (ranked 84th) will meet Hylton (ranked 244th) at 7:00 p.m. on the 5th.
