Basketball Recap: Claire Tackett's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Northmor over Lucas

Northmor lost against Lucas back in January of 2018 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Northmor Golden Knights took a 47-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lucas Cubs. The Golden Knights have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Several Golden Knights players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Claire Tackett, who posted nine points in addition to five boards and five steals. That's the most steals Tackett has posted since back in December of 2023. Another player making a difference was Ryann Brinkman, who put up eight points in addition to five boards and three steals.

Even though they lost, Northmor smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Northmor's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Lucas, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northmor will venture away from home to face off against Danville at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Danville has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Lucas, they are taking a road trip to challenge Galion at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
