Volleyball Recap: Naperville Central Comes Up Short

Naperville Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Metea Valley Mustangs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mustangs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 on May 1st.

Naperville Central actually scored more points across those three sets (67-66), but sadly they still had to settle for second. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 16-25, 25-20.

Metea Valley can attribute much of their success to Aariz Hashwani, who had 11 digs and two assists.

Naperville Central's defeat dropped their record down to 6-27. As for Metea Valley, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 16-15.

Naperville Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Metea Valley, they will host Hinsdale South at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Hornets will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Mustangs surely won't give up without a fight.
