Baseball Recap: Connell Takes a Loss

Connell extended their losing streak to four on Tuesday, dropping them down to 13-5. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-5 heartbreaker at the hands of the Royal Knights. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Knights this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 on Tuesday.

Tucker Thomasson made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.

As for Royal, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-7-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games.

On Royal's side, Ernie Weeks was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Bryan Larsen was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Connell will face off against rival Zillah at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Royal is set to challenge their familiar foe Naches Valley at 3:00 p.m. on Friday.
