Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Berne Union

Berne Union entered their tilt with Harvest Prep on Wednesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Warriors a 21-0 shutout. The Rockets have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Warriors, too.

Josilyn Hedges and Reese Besco were a major factor while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Hedges pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Meanwhile, Besco tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. At the plate, Hedges scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances, while Besco scored a run while going 1-for-3. That stolen base was Hedges' first of the season.

In other batting news, Berne Union got a massive performance out of Kori Hoplite, who scored three runs while going 3-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Rylee North, who scored three runs while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances.

Berne Union always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .756. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2024.

Berne Union's record now sits at 4-2. As for Harvest Prep, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.
