Volleyball Recap: Caston Find Success

After losing to Taylor the last time they met, Caston decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Comets walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Titans on Saturday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Comets.

Caston not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Taylor between 15 and 17 points across their sets. The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-17.

Caston found their leader in sophomore Ellie Zartman, who had eight assists and four aces. Those four aces set a new season-high mark for Zartman. Lyla Gebhart also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Caston was lethal from the service line and finished the match with ten aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in August.

Caston's win bumped their record up to 6-21. As for Taylor, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-21.

Caston didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 loss against North White on the 4th. As for Taylor, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Carroll at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
